Dad, Sam, and I went to a work day at our church. We are laying an irrigation system to water the grass, flowers, and bushes around the front yard. It was a rather long day…we got there a little after 8:00 this morning, and didn’t leave until about 6:00 this evening. For most of the morning I was inside putting event items away in closets, then afterwards I joined everyone else outside. Both Dad and Sam worked out front the whole day, and, yes, they have the sunburns to prove it! ;-)

I didn’t have my camera with me, so no pictures from today, but I do want to post some that I took over the past few months…

Well, I said “over the past few months,” and for most of them that’s true, but I just noticed that this photo was taken exactly one year ago tomorrow!

If you read my “about me,” (and paid attention to it :-)  ), you would know that I love cowgirl/cowboy boots. These are Emily’s and Caleb’s boots, and they are SO cute. Caleb’s aren’t exactly cowboy boots, I know, but you should see his new pair of actual cowboy boots! (Hint to self: take pictures so that I can post them.)

Wire fences…not what most people would think of to make a neat picture, but I think so :-)

Seeds on a wooden rail…

The contrast of stillness and movement. It is so captivating to watch a brook, or a stream, or a campfire, or something like that. They’re always changing, yet staying the same. Always moving, yet staying exactly in its place. So pretty.

Experimenting with Manual Mode

The day that I took these pictures was the first time that I have ever shot using manual mode. (Yes, shameful, I know, but I’m tryin’ it now.) It really wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it’s definitely going to take some getting used to. I guess I’ve always thought that it was rather complicated to shoot in manual, so I have been hesitant to even try it.

Our first crop (or at least mini-crop) of blueberries!

You know, I’m not a huge fan of blueberries, but I think I’m going to have to try some of these :-)

They do look like they’ll be good when they ripen, huh?

Bright, happy flowers

Blackberry Blossom (Hey, that’s a song!) :-)

Some sort of pretty flower…I’m not really sure what it is

The art of a bud

The art of a wonderful old truck

Yes, even rust can look cool if you do it right ;-)

My First Post on a “Real” Blog!

Yay, here goes! This has been a long time coming, but I finally have a public blog! I hope to have some good pictures to show you, some good things to say, and hopefully a blog worth reading!

First off, let me introduce you to everyone…

This is me, Caroline. I’m 19.

Mom and Dad

This is my  sixteen year old sister, Colleen.

This is my thirteen year old brother, Sam. If you can’t tell, he really doesn’t like to have his picture taken.

This is my nine year old sister, Emily. She loves flowers, pink, and anything girly.

This is my seven year old brother, Caleb. You can probably get a pretty good idea of his personality from this picture. :-)

Emily, I’m sure, would like for me to introduce you to our new pet, too, so here is a picture of Patch, our guinea pig.

Check back soon!
